The Master of Arts in Education degree program develops and enhances your curriculum and instruction repertoire. Students study curricular planning with an integration of technology, assessment and evaluation practices. Students also look at strategies for effective classroom instruction for a variety of learners and critical issues within the field of education.
 
The program is designed to meet the specific needs of educators through specialization in several areas - Administration and Supervision, Educational Counseling, E-Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Diverse Learner, English as a Second Language, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Technology, and Management of Education Programs. Each area of specialization offers courses developed to meet state licensing or content standards and to enhance and refine the skills of the individual whether an administrator, educational counselor, or classroom teacher.
 
The Curriculum and Instruction Program is a graduate degree for bachelor prepared individuals who wish to develop and enhance their curriculum and instruction repertoire. The program encompasses the study of curricular planning and development with an integration of technology, assessment and evaluation practices, strategies for effective classroom instruction for a variety of learners and critical issues within the field of education. The English as a second language (ESL) specialization focuses on instructional methods and materials for teaching English as a second language; theories for the acquisition of a second language; testing and evaluation of students studying English as a second language; and developing curriculum for English as a second language students.
 
The Master of Arts in Education (MAED) with a specialization in Early Childhood Education is a graduate degree for educators seeking knowledge and expertise in the field of early childhood development and teaching. The curriculum includes instructional strategies, teaching methodologies, assessment techniques, theories of early childhood growth and development, and the impact of family and cultural diversity on early childhood. All project work integrates the theoretical aspects of education and the practical experience of the adult learner through the identification and exploration of a significant problem related to the student's area of professional responsibilities and interest.

The specialization in Special Education includes a survey of exceptional students, foundations and methodologies of mild disabilities, diagnosis and assessment of disabilities, management of student behavior, instruction in the content areas, and collaboration and resource management for the special educator. A supervised student teaching experience in special education is incorporated into the specialization.

The program encompasses the study of curricular planning and development with an integration of technology, assessment and evaluation practices, strategies for effective classroom instruction for a variety of learners and critical issues within the field of education. The mathematics specialization focuses on the effective curricular, teaching, and assessment practices in the content areas of algebra, geometry, and statistics.
 
The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program prepares leaders who can effectively respond to the dynamic and ever-changing health care industry. These individuals have a capacity to critically examine and evaluate issues and trends and are empowered to influence the destiny of the global health care system. Curriculum is tailored to the needs of the health care leader/manager by providing content in finance, policy, research, technology, quality improvement, economics, marketing and strategic planning. In addition, students will be asked to complete course work related to their area of concentration such as public health, long-term care, and health informatics.

This program is designed to fill the educational needs of mid-career professionals who want to develop or enhance their management skills. The curriculum teaches how to effectively manage the human and fiscal resources of private businesses, non-profit organizations, and public agencies. Your studies will give you an in-depth understanding of the structure, culture, and behavior of organizations. You will explore current styles and methods of leadership and the vital role that human resources managers play. The latest marketing tools and strategic planning techniques will also be featured. In addition, you will examine the financial considerations of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, and how organizations can use changing technologies to enhance growth.

Students focus on leadership, management, or the human side of an organization. This program places an emphasis on emerging management theory, techniques, and practices.
 
The MM/HRM program develops management skills in defining business problems, assessing information, considering alternatives, and choosing the best solutions. Graduates attain the skill sets necessary to evaluate and manage the challenges facing contemporary organizations.

The Master of Management/Public Administration program (MM/PA) is designed to enhance the management skills needed to function effectively within an organization. Students focus on leadership and management - the human side of an organization. This program emphasizes emerging management theory, techniques, and practices. The College of Graduate Business has created interactive, multimedia, case-based simulations that place students in real-world environments. These simulations require students to apply critical thinking skills to decision-making situations. Each simulation offers students the opportunity to identify the information required to solve the problem, assess alternative solutions, and receive feedback on their choices.
 
The MM/PA program develops management skills in defining business problems, assessing information, considering alternatives, and choosing the best solutions. Graduates attain the skill sets necessary to evaluate and manage the challenges facing contemporary organizations. The program provides a foundation of analytic and conceptual skills for effective managerial decision making in the real-world organization.

• The MBA program is designed to enhance the management skills students need to function effectively within an organization. Emphasis is placed on quantitative analysis of business information to improve business decision making. To prepare students for this decision-making role, the MBA has been designed to introduce the theory or principles that frame a wide range of problems or issues in each of the courses. The most current techniques or tools are applied to these theories to allow students to practice making decisions to solve a wide range of problems.

The program is designed to develop or enhance the financial management skills necessary to function effectively within private businesses, non-profit organizations, and public agencies. The program concentrates on managing fiscal resources within the structure, culture, and mission of any organization. The accounting specialization addresses advanced costing techniques, accounting theory, accounting information systems, and issues in corporate taxation, among other subjects.
 
The Global Management program helps current and future global managers gain the specialized skills needed to lead multicultural and multinational work forces. The curriculum is structured with two primary goals in mind: to provide you with a broad-based understanding of the economics of international business operations, and to prepare you for managing human and material resources within various cultural, legal, and political contexts. Your coursework will emphasize how to balance the needs of shareholders, customers, and employees with local customs and government regulations. You will learn how to identify opportunities and develop alternative courses of action within the limits of the international environment. You will also study legal trends in various regions of the world, macro- and microeconomic issues, and information technology in business systems.
 
The MBA/HCM is designed to provide students with the business management skills needed to manage successfully in today’s health care delivery systems. The MBA/HCM program emphasizes the identification, analysis, and solution of complex management problems with a foundation of health care concepts and decision models that will support the variety of management roles that can be seen in today’s health care environment. The MBA/HCM specialization is based upon courses in health care organizations, health care finance, quality and data base management, health care infrastructure, and health care strategic management.

The MBA/HRM program is designed to meet the needs of a broad but unique population - the working adult manager or supervisor who could benefit from a graduate business education. Because human resources management science tools are applicable to the problems of the public sector as well as the private sector, students whose career interests involve not-for-profit enterprise are also encouraged to seek admission. Students develop additional expertise in the solution of persistent human resources management problems through the completion of a research project, which relates the student's professional interests or responsibilities to the goal of improved human resources managerial functioning.

The Master of Business Administration/Marketing (MBA/MKT) program develops students for the role marketing managers play in defining business problems, assessing information, considering alternatives, and choosing the best solution. Students in this program will complete five specialized courses in e-Marketing Theory and Application, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, Marketing Strategy, and the Marketing Capstone Course.
 
The Master of Business Administration/Public Administration program (MBA/PA) is designed to enhance the management skills students need to function effectively within an organization. This program addresses public policy analysis and public financial management. Students will explore the varying needs of internal and external stakeholders in the public sector and how public managers can tailor their communication and problem solving approach to each group. Another common theme is the development of creative solutions to public sector needs in an environment of limited resources.
 
The College of Graduate Business and Management has created interactive, multimedia, case-based simulations for its graduate business courses. The core courses of the program will focus on quantitative analysis to formulate and validate business decisions, as well as critical-thinking skills to solve business problems.
 
Whether you are involved in the development, management, or marketing of technology, this program will teach you how to meet the unique challenges of the ever-changing technology industry. The most successful organizations will continue to employ managers, engineers, designers, and systems analysts who can interpret business plans as easily as schematic drawings.

Admission to the MIS program requires a Business Degree

The Master of Information Systems/Management (MIS/M) program is focused on the acquisition of information technology theory and its application to real world business opportunities and challenges. The program provides current theory and knowledge of essential information technology and the basis of business management. While courses examine a broad range of information technology resources, they emphasize the management of such resources in order to meet an organization's challenges and goals. The Management specialization prepares managers to make decisions within a legal and ethical framework, use accounting principles and financial tools, and improve organizational effectiveness by understanding human relations.

The Master of Science/Administration of Justice and Security degree provides the required knowledge for the student to develop competence in administering criminal justice or security programs. While distinctions between the roles of justice and security organizations are understood, the degree emphasizes an understanding of administrative responsibilities common to both disciplines. The value of cooperative interaction is also addressed. The degree provides the student with administrative program development and problem solving skills in preparation for promotional or transitional opportunities in the management of police, corrections, security or court operations.
 
This NLNAC-accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is designed for baccalaureate-prepared registered nurses. It provides students with advanced nursing knowledge through theory and research.
 
The MSN program prepares graduates for advanced nursing practice in today's dynamic health care environment. The 39-semester credit curriculum (with a 60-hour clinical practicum) is reality based, application oriented, and develops essential skills in leadership.
 
Admission requires you to have a valid current U.S. RN license and demonstrate three years full-time RN work experience. You must also hold a BSN degree or baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Additional requirements must be met prior to official admission. RNs with a bachelor's degree in an area other than nursing have the opportunity to earn a MSN degree through our RN to MSN Bridge Program. With this program, RNs can complete three courses at the BSN level and then move directly into the Master of Science in Nursing curriculum.

The Master of Science in Nursing/Health Care Education program (MSN/ED), accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc.(1) enhances the knowledge and skills of registered nurses with baccalaureate-degree preparation. The program prepares advanced practice nurses to function in leadership roles in practice and educational settings. Advanced nursing theory and research provide the foundation for nurses to influence the future of nursing and health care.
 
This course series is designed for nursing and health care professionals interested in pursuing or advancing in careers as faculty in higher educational settings. Those with no background in higher education receive a strong foundation for the many dimensions of the faculty role. Current educators can update or expand their knowledge in curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, and instructional strategies.

The Master of Science in Nursing/Integrative Health program (MSN/IH) enhances the knowledge and skills of registered nurses with baccalaureate-degree preparation. The program prepares advanced practice nurses to function in leadership roles in practice and educational settings. Advanced nursing theory and research provide the foundation for nurses to influence the future of nursing and health care.
 
This course series focuses on integrative health care, a synthesis or blend of conventional care with alternative and complementary healing therapies. Those with little or some knowledge in the field can learn more about the background and current status of integrative care, as well as health policy, legal, regulatory, and ethical issues. An overview of commonly used alternative and complementary healing therapies provides a strong foundation for continued learning. Participants develop a proposal for an integrative health care project or course, based on their current or future work setting.

The MSN/MHA program is designed to provide nurses with a unique blend of advanced nursing and healthcare related business skills. The program combines essential elements from both degree programs to provide students with the knowledge to effectively issues impacting health care.
 
The MSN program consists of three major areas: the core, the major, and the cognate. The core incorporates the theory of nursing influence, influence of nursing research, and advanced practice of nursing. The major includes advanced course work in nursing: management of families and aggregates, administration, and education. The cognate is fulfilled through the MHA program content.
 
The MHA program focuses on content related to finance, economics, policy, quality improvement, marketing, and strategic planning. In addition, students complete course work in concepts related to public health, long term care and health care informatics. Graduates enhance their management backgrounds through a curriculum that provides students with the ability to apply theory to contemporary practice applications.

The Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration/Health Care Management (MSN/MBA/HCM) program is designed to provide nurses with a unique blend of advanced nursing and business management skills needed to manage today's innovative health care delivery systems. The program combines essentials from both degree programs to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance and support patient services.
 
The MSN/MBA/HCM program emphasizes the identification, analysis, and solution of complex management problems that require technical understanding and balanced decision making. Although a functional knowledge of accounting, finance, and management underlies the program, equal attention is given to the development of report writing, oral reporting, and group process skills.

The RN BSN program is designed to develop the professional knowledge and skills of working registered nurses. The curriculum is built upon a foundation of biological, physical, and social sciences which contribute to the science of nursing. The liberal arts components promote the development of the intellectual, social, and cultural aspects of the professional nurse. The program enhances the foundation in the biological, physical, and social sciences through an instructional program with behavioral objectives that concentrate on the development of the nurse’s role as caregiver, teacher, and manager of care. Utilizing a self-care framework, working registered nurses are prepared as generalists who are able to apply professional skills and knowledge to nursing, clients, and health care systems.
