Downtown Orlando is going through a redevelopment with many new construction project planned or underway. Orlando is well known for its many golf courses and a popular tourist destination. Orlando's nickname is "The City Beautiful."

There are two major weather seasons each year. One is hot and rainy, which lasts from April until October (coinciding with the Atlantic hurricane season). The cooler season is between November through March when temperatures are moderate and rainfall is less frequent.

During the humid summer season, the temperatures are usually no lower than 70° F (21 °C) and usually no higher than the 90s °F (32-37 °C). Occassionally, temperatures go beyond 100 °F. The best time for an Orlando vacation is during the holidays when more tourists frequent the area.
