Virtual Reality

Panoramas and Scenes

Virtual reality technology has been a programmer tools for several decades. It enables a realistic view of an image that can zoom in and out as well as spin in a panoramic view.

These VR images do not require special glasses or software, other than Apple's Quicktime viewer. The Quicktime player is installed in most Macintosh and PC's and is also a free download from Apple.

For more than a decade, a unique software program from Apple warps a photo to give a virtual reality effect- almost a 3d like view of a scene or panorama.

Quicktime VR, has been discontinued with the advance of OSX. The original program only runs on OS9 or lower. But, after dusting off an older Mac, some great photographs have been turned into VR Scenes. More on virtual reality.

Operate the controls to make the virtual reality image come to life (above).
