Singer Michael Bublé Starts a New Tour and Performs All Over TV (1/06)
CD Sales Top Three Million Worldwide
Multi-Platinum Sales in Eight Countries Including U.K., Australia and Canada - 16 Sell-Out Shows in England
NEW
YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 12/02/2004 -- Michael Bublé has plenty to
celebrate in 2004 besides the holidays. According to his label, Reprise
Records, the Canadian singing sensation has sold over three million CDs
worldwide including five times platinum in Australia, three times
platinum in Canada, twice platinum in the United Kingdom, South Africa,
Italy, New Zealand and the Philippines, and gold status in Indonesia,
Malaysia, Spain, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Bublé's collective sales of his
CDs and DVDs in the U.S. have sold well over 1 million units.
The Vancouver native has had scores of sold-out engagements
throughout Europe and Asia. Last month, he completed 16 sell-outs in the
U.K. alone, most notably two SROs at London's prestigious Royal Albert
Hall. As the year finishes out, Bublé has performed for close to a
quarter of a million devoted fans. He has received glowing reviews,
standing ovations and enormously enthusiastic responses from fans and
critics everywhere.
"Bublé's stage presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy
and when he sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," raved the
London Sunday Times Magazine. "He has the ability to be one of life's
legends... graceful.... grateful, respectful and sophisticated," gushed
Out & About magazine, Glasgow, Scotland. The New York Times said
Bublé was "dripping with star quality."
Bublé's whirlwind schedule will continue through mid-December
with international promotional activities including the NBC-TV
Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting and an appearance at the
Royal Variety Performance in London, hosted by Prince Charles. In
addition, Bublé has been jetting back and forth to Los Angeles to
complete his much-anticipated second CD, which is scheduled for release
in early February -- just in time for Valentine's Day.
Already considered one of the hardest-working entertainers in
show business, Bublé will get a brief time-out later this month when he
is expected home in Vancouver for the holidays. After the New Year, he
continues his globetrotting activities, which are expected to lead to an
even bigger 2005 for one of the most exciting artists in the music
scene today.
