The 44th Annual CMA Awards 2010 winners

The 44th annual CMA Awards was hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and was broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena on ABC-TV in Nashville, Wednesday, November 10, 2010.

Performers for "The 44th Annual CMA Awards" included Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban.

In addition, special performances featured Gwyneth Paltrow in her live Country Music singing debut with Vince Gill; top nominee Lambert with Sheryl Crow in a tribute to Loretta Lynn's 50th Anniversary as a recording artist; Jason Aldean with Kelly Clarkson; and Zac Brown Band with Alan Jackson.

CMA Country Christmas show

"CMA Country Christmas" is broadcast on Monday, November 29, 2010 (9:30-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.
 
The 2010 CMA Country Christmas TV show is hosted by Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, this 90-minute special will feature performances of holiday classics as well as fireside chats with the artists and their families. Artists appearing include Sheryl Crow, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Reba, LeAnn Rimes, Darius Rucker, and Sugarland.

Miranda Lambert Wins 3 at 44th CMA Awards

Top CMA Awards nominee Miranda Lambert, who entered “Country Music’s Biggest Night™ with a record nine nominations, walked away with an armful of CMA Awards on November 10, 2010.

The Texas bombshell took home three CMA trophies, including Female Vocalist, Album for Revolution (produced by Frank Liddell and Mike Wrucke) and Music Video of the Year for “The House That Built Me” (directed by Trey Fanjoy, who picked up her second consecutive Award in that category). The three Awards were the first she has won in her career.

“Revolution has certainly caused a revolution in my life this year thanks to the Country Music industry,” Lambert expressed after winning Album. “It’s what I love, it’s what I do, it’s what I live for, so thank you for loving it too.”
After wowing the crowd with his tribute to the music he loves, “This Is Country Music,” Awards co-host Brad Paisley won the big one, Entertainer of the Year, which was his first win in the category.

An emotional Paisley quoted his hero Little Jimmy Dickens: “’If you see a turtle on a fence post it had help getting there.’ I feel just like a turtle on a fence post right now.”

Paisley went on to thank all fans of Country Music. “It sounds like a cliché when you say thanks to the fans, but the great thing about Country fans is that when you say ‘fans,’ I don’t even mean mine. You guys are loyal to everyone in this room.”

 “The 44th Annual CMA Awards” was hosted for the third time by Paisley and Carrie Underwood and broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on the ABC Television Network.

Multi-genre music superstar and CMA Awards nominee Kid Rock and reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift also performed at the 44th Annual CMA Awards.

Previously announced presenters included The Band Perry, Luke Bryan, Easton Corbin, Sara Evans, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Jerrod Niemann, Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes, Darius Rucker, and Chris Young, as well as NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon and ABC television stars JoAnna Garcia ("Better With You") and Ty Pennington ("Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"). Rodney Atkins will present Awards in Pre-Telecast Ceremonies.

In additional news, Sara Evans had been added as a presenter. Evans won the CMA Music Video of the Year Award in 2001 for "Born to Fly." She is currently recording a new album, scheduled for an early 2011 release.

Lady Antebellum had won their second consecutive Single of the Year Award for the smash crossover hit “Need You Now,” becoming the only artist in CMA Awards history to capture the Single honor in consecutive years. After winning their second Vocal Group of the Year Award, the trio marveled at the huge year they’ve had.
 
“Thank you so much to my bandmates Charles [Kelley] and Dave [Haywood],” Hillary Scott summed up while accepting their Award. “This year has been unbelievable and I can’t imagine two better people to enjoy the ride with.”
Zac Brown Band was another first-time winner, picking up the New Artist of the Year Award.

“Thank you to all the fans who believed in us and supported us,” said band front man Brown. “It’s an honor to get to do what we do.” Alan Jackson joined Zac Brown Band to perform “As She’s Walking Away” from the band’s sophomore album, You Get What You Give.
 
Song of the Year went to the songwriters who penned Lambert’s hit “The House That Built Me,” Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin. Backstage, Shamblin grew nostalgic when talking about his childhood home and the inspiration for the song.

“For years I have wondered what it would be like to go knock on the door and go back in and see where I used to sneak out the back window and see where I learned to play my guitar,” he recalled. “This song is about wondering what it would be like to go back to where I grew up.”
 
Gunning for fellow nominee Brooks & Dunn’s record of 14, Sugarland picked up their fourth Vocal Duo of the Year Award after performing their latest No. 1 hit “Stuck Like Glue.”

For the first time, CMAawards.com offered live streaming footage from the CMA Awards Black Carpet presented by Jack Daniel's, the Pre-Telecast ceremonies, and the backstage Press Room.

Fans were able to watch the nominees, performers, presenters, and other favorite celebrities walk the Black Carpet and be photographed by the paparazzi live beginning at 5:00 PM/ET.

Later in the evening, fans saw the live presentation of Awards to artists, musicians, radio personalities, and radio stations in the Pre-Telecast cermonies. And, fans were able to watch the backstage Press Room, where reporters from media outlets all over the world gather for mini-press conferences featuring several of the winning artists and more.

The show aired on NBC through 1971 and on the CBS Television Network from 1972 through 2005 before moving to ABC in 2006.
 
Winners of “The 44th Annual CMA Awards” were determined in a final round of voting by eligible voting members of the County Music Association. CMA Awards balloting is officiated by the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP.

FANS CROWN CARRIE UNDERWOOD THE BIG WINNER AT THE “2010 CMT MUSIC AWARDS”

The night belonged to first-time winners and fan-favorite Carrie Underwood, who took home two wins at this year’s CMT MUSIC AWARDS.  Underwood took top honors for VIDEO OF THE YEAR (“Cowboy Casanova”) and CMT PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR (“Temporary Home” from INVITATION ONLY: CARRIE UNDERWOOD); while Keith Urban took home the buckle in a first-time category win for MALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR (“’Til Summer Comes Around,” and Miranda Lambert scored her first CMT Music Award for FEMALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR (“White Liar”). Continue reading about the 2010 CMT Music Awards and list of winners.

CMA Announces Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees Includes Jimmy Dean, Ferlin Husky, Billy Sherrill

On Feb. 23, 2010 as a highlight of CMA’s seventh annual Artist Luncheon, it was announced that Jimmy Dean, Ferlin Husky, Billy Sherrill and Don Williams have been elected as the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame. The announcement was made before 185 artists and industry executives at the Luncheon, which took place appropriately in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Rotunda, where bronze plaques display the likenesses and summarize the legacies of each member inducted since the Hall was launched by CMA in 1961. Winners announced for the 45th Annual Country Music Awards 2010

The star-studded ceremony was broadcast live on Sunday night, April 18, 2010 on the CBS Television Network from MGM GRAND in Las Vegas. Almost a half a million country music fans voted for the Entertainer of the Year category and named Carrie Underwood winner of the evening's biggest honor. Carrie Underwood to perform at the CMA Music Fest

A trembling 15-year-old Riley Ahlstrand was the first to find out: Carrie Underwood will be among the stars performing at this year’s CMA Music Festival Thursday through Sunday, June 10-13 in Nashville.
