The official 2015 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show™ is on the second full weekend of February (starting with a Thursday). It is now the largest gem and mineral show in the United States.

The Gem Show is open to the public. There are numerous exhibits, lectures and displays available.

The Saturday Night Gem Show Dinner Program is held on February 14, 2015. There will be a silent auction, buffet, awards ceremony, slide competition awards and a live auction.

The Requiem, which has become Brahms’s most popular choral work, is based on Martin Luther’s German translation of the Bible. This achingly beautiful piece was conceived at the death of the composer’s friend and mentor, Robert Schumann, and completed a decade later following the death of Brahms’s mother.

The Berkshire Choral Festival kicks off its thirty-third season in Sheffield, MA on July 19th with A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms. Rollo Dilworth, associate professor of choral music at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music, will lead the 200-voice Festival Chorus and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.

Bannow co-wrote the book, lyrics and music with Craig Bohmler as a tribute to those famous glands, whether big, small, scared, saggy or man-boobs. She also created all of the busts seen on the set, each decorated in accordance with some aspect of the character it represents.

The Festival started out as a way for a few local artists to show and sell their work on the City Pier and has grown to one of the area’s best known little fine art & crafts festival. It’s big enough at about 150 artisans for a great selection of high quality fine art and crafts but it’s small enough to walk comfortably. The Festival is just a block from the Wine & Culinary Center in Canandaigua. The art is the star at this festival but also offered is an excellent food court and musical entertainment.
