Cinema Under The Stars Presents "Chasing Ice"

Date:
Saturday, July 20, 2013 - 7:30pm - 10:00pm

On Saturday, July 20, Global Change Multi-Media’s Cinema Under The Stars summer series presents the 2012 film, Chasing Ice, winner of awards in 12 different film festivals, including the “Excellence in Cinematography” award in the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

In the spring of 2005, National Geographic photographer James Balog headed to the Arctic on a tricky assignment: to capture images to help tell the story of the Earth’s changing climate. Even with a scientific upbringing, Balog had been a skeptic about climate change and a cynic about the nature of academic research. But that first trip north opened his eyes to the biggest story in human history and sparked a challenge within him that would put his career and his very well-being at risk.

“I love classical music, but I am energized by the possibilities of space music,” says Savage. “I especially enjoy how it allows me to subtly incorporate elements of ambient-new age, avant-garde jazz, modern-classical and electronica.”
