Tucson Fireworks Events

There will be several other 4th of July fireworks displays and parties at local resorts, hotels and designated places around Tucson, Marana and Oro Valley. The 2016l Tucson fireworks show on July 4, 2016 will be held at "A" Mountain with a free Independence Day Party downtown at the Tucson Convention Center (TCC) before the fireworks. Several other offical fireworks displays will be held in Marana, Oro Valley and some resorts outside of Tucson. FC Tucson plans a Fourth of July Party with a soccer game.

Renowned Mexican comedian Teo González, el comediante de la cola de caballo, is coming to the Diamond Center for a night of laughs on Friday, July 31. Tickets start at $15 and go on sale through Star Tickets on Saturday, July 11. Tickets are also available at Desert Diamond’s Rewards Center. Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m. This is a Spanish-language show.

This Week at SWIR

Midnight Drags was a big success this past Friday night at Southwestern International Raceway (SWIR). Almost 100 vehicles participated and there was double the spectators in the stands to cheer on many first-time racers as they made their first pass down the track. SWIR would like to thank all of the racers and spectators who joined us for the late night Test & Tune session!

July is a packed month at The Nash, kicking off with a 4th of July bash with the Bad Cactus Brass Band. The month also marks the beginning of the Catch A Rising Star Series, comprised of Arizona musicians ages 18 to 24, who have been specially selected by The Nash,. The Series provides a platform for these emerging artists to gain prominence in the jazz community. Big Band Wednesdays continue throughout July, as jazz fans can enjoy the Superstition Jazz Orchestra for just $5.

For fans of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, an exhibit of her photographs opening Oct. 31 at the Heard Museum is a window to her worldview, to the people she loved, to her passions and to the pain she suffered nearly constantly throughout her life. For those introducing themselves to Kahlo’s legacy, Frida Kahlo: Her Photos is a window into the soul of one of the 20th century’s most intriguing artists. Visitors will see how Kahlo’s personal photographs inspired, comforted and served as work tools for her incredible art in the exhibit. It opens to the public Oct.

"A" Mountain Fireworks

The "A" Mountain Downtown fireworks are the official Tucson city show from "A" Mountain, just west of Downtown. Those who drive Downtown early can enjoy additional events, entertainment and vendors at the Tucson Convention Center (TCC), 260 S. Church. The free annual 2015 fireworks show can be seen from many parts of the city- just look to the west at about 9:15 pm.

Before the fireworks start, food vendors will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream and other items from 7:00- 9:00 pm in the TCC parking lot. For more information call 520-791-4101.

Tucson Botanical Gardens presents the TUCSON GARDEN RAILWAY KIDS CLUB on the Fourth Saturday, monthly June 27, July 25, Aug. 29, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Join the Tucson Garden Railway Society on the last Saturday of the month during the summer for train-themed fun! First Anniversary of The Screamery

The Screamery will celebrate its one-year anniversary on Saturday and Sunday, July 11 & 12, 2015, 12n-9pm at its store located at 50 N. Houghton Road Suite 120. The commemoration will include an “ice cream social” atmosphere. On Sunday, the feature is an ice cream eating contest between 1-3PM where in five minutes heats, teams of two will attempt to consume the “Farmhouse”, a signature sundae with eight huge scoops of ice cream and toppings. Local personalities have been invited to participate in the contest.

Space Age Renaissance Fair at Valley of the Moon

There is a choice between a 3k fun run/walk and a 1 mile fun run/walk. We are encouraging people to sign up their team or as a solo walker to help support this event. By supporting Walk For Wishes you are helping enrich the human experience for our wish kids with hope, strength and joy. Arizona wish children will be present to help inspire our walk teams.
