Children, families and people of all ages will come together to participate in Earth Day 2013 in Tucson on 4/20/13, as part of the Children & Nature Network’s (C&NN) second annual Let’s G.O.! (Get Outside) campaign during the month of April.

Let’s G.O.! is a call for fun! Events will occur in a variety of locations and settings worldwide, including Earth Day 2013 at the 4H High Ropes Course GreenLot on Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 8am to 12pm at 1985 W. Fort Lowell Road.

Activity booths will be run by Pima County Cooperative Extension, 4-H Extension, Bicas, Community Food Bank, El Grupo Cycling, Ironwood Tree Experience, NOLS, Parks in Focus, Prescott College, REI, Southwest Conservation Corps, Technicians for Sustainability, Trees for Tucson, Tucson Clean and Beautiful.

It also includes training in communications skills, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, ethics, boundaries, confidentiality, HIPAA, suicide assessment/intervention and risk management.

Greater Tucson Leadership Class is accepting applications for its annual leadership program until April 16 for the class beginning August 23, 2013.

Since 1980, GTL has graduated almost 900 participants and expanded their leadership pursuits. The goals for the class are to help participants step more strongly into leadership roles and become change agents in our community. 9th Annual Winter Rocket Launch

The Southern Arizona Rocketry Association (SARA) announces its 9th annual winter rocket launch, Desert Heat 2013, to be held March 23-24 at 3250 N. Reservation Road at the Tucson International Modelplex Park Association. Rockets will be launched 9AM until 5PM on Saturday and 9AM until 1PM on Sunday. A night launch will be held on Saturday from dusk until 9PM.

Desert Heat 2013 is a two-day rocket extravaganza that includes fun, raffles, prizes and events for the whole family, featuring the popular mass launch of 50 rockets on both Saturday and Sunday at 11AM. Each rocket is numbered and all 50 will be launched simultaneously. After they land, the kids are encouraged to retrieve one and trade it in for a prize.

Performances showcase genius of Alexei Ratmansky, Alejandro Cerrudo and Ib Andersen with Carnival of the Animals, Diversions and a World Premiere

Three of the leading choreographers on the dance scene today- Alexei Ramantsky, who serves as Artist in Residence at American Ballet Theatre in NYC and was the former Artistic Director of the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow; the hot up-and-coming dancer/choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago; and Ballet Arizona's Artistic Director Ib Andersen are joining together for the creation of DIRECTOR'S CHOICE. The program will be a visual and emotional feast, from the whimsical to the sensual.
