2012-2013 season of the Scottsdale Street Fair

A New Spin on Talavera Pottery Complements Exhibit on Mexico

Camp Soaring Eagle Chooses ‘CANDY LAND’ as Theme for 2012 Annual Affair

The theme of the 2012 Camp Soaring Eagle Annual Affair is ‘CANDY LAND’, featuring décor, cuisine and entertainment based on the popular children’s board game.

Arizona Region Kicks off 16th Year of Student Competition

The Future City Competition Arizona Region began its 16th year on August 3, 2012. The registration deadline for elementary and middle schools that want to participate in this year’s competition is October 21, 2012.

The National Future City Competition was developed to help middle school students discover and foster interests in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) related subjects and careers during the critical years of their education. The STEM based competition provides a fun and experiential challenge for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students.

Batman has been one the most well-known comic book heroes of all time as he fights crime like every other hero does and yet he does not have superpowers, but the gadgets he uses to take down his enemies. With his success as a comic book hero he soon made his way on to the big screen in his first 1966 film and then in 1989 to 1997 and followed by a reboot, from Christopher Nolan, from 2005 to 2012.

With each remake/reboot of Batman we can all agree that they managed to get better along the way and now that Christopher Nolan has completed his "Dark Knight Trilogy" we are now left to see what happens next.

Oracle State Park Reopens on New Fall Schedule

Oracle State Park Center for Environmental Education re-opens to the public on Saturday, Sept. 1, and will offer an array of programs, lectures, workshops, and special events on Saturdays only through the end of November.

The park will be open to the public on those Saturdays from 8AM to 5PM and the cost will be $7 per vehicle.

School groups will be scheduled by reservation for September through November for environmental education programs on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Bird walks, plant walks, guided hikes, and tours of the historic Kannally ranch house will resume on September 1. Workshops on basket making with native grass, papermaking with local plants, and nature-journal making will be scheduled as well.

66th Buffalo International Horse Show
