"Piano Fireworks" Piano Recital featuring Yelizaveta Beriyeva concert has been rescheduled to January 10, 2010 at 3:30pm. The concert is sponsored by Oro Valley Summer Chamber Music.

In addition to an active professional performing career, Ms. Beriyeva devotes much time to teaching piano, music theory, music history and ear training lessons. Throughout her career, she has performed in her native (Republic of) Georgia, Armenia, Russia, Italy and the United States and has won numerous prizes. She is well remembered from recitals in Greater Tucson including her performance at St. Mark's last year - and some are still humming the gorgeous melodies of the Schubert sonata...Hard to imagine she could come up with a more stunning performance.

But you shall see - and hear. It's a Haydn year, in memory of the 200th anniversary of his death. Haydn, a prolific composer of the
classical era, contributed much to the development of the symphony as we know it today, the string quartet and the sonata form. Leeza will perform one of Haydn's piano sonatas and a beautiful Chopin piece. She will then close her recital with one of only two piano sonatas ever composed by Sergei Rachmaninov. The challenging piece, Sonata in b flat minor, will enable Leeza to dazzle the audience with her superb technique as well as her ability to express the lyrical passages of this last composer of Russian Romanticism.

All performances at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1431 W. Magee Road located at the Southwest Corner of Magee/La Canada. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for Students under 18. Call (520) 797-3959 x 6 for more information.
