If you are planning a trip to Phoenix, be assured that there will
not be a lack of things to do and see.
First of all, most Arizonans refer to Phoenix, but it actually
encompasses several communities all back-to-back in the Phoenix
area.
Phoenix is home to several famous places such as the Hard Rock
Cafe and Planet Hollywood. Both are located next to
the Biltmore Fashion Park, a fancy mall.
While in Phoenix be sure to look for some of the following places
to visit: Heard Museum (22 E. Monte Vista Rd., 602-252-8840)
which has nearly 80,000 square feet of space and features Native
American art, Phoenix Art Museum, Castle and Coaster
Amusement Park, Heritage Square, Rosson House and several
other historical houses in Heritage Square.
Phoenix has outdoor things to do like Squaw Peak Mountain Park,
South Mountain Park, and the Desert Botanical Garden. The
Phoenix area also has a great deal of golf courses, which is a
main attraction in Arizona, especially in winter months.
Phoenix is a large city with endless freeways and streets and
is getting the feel of Los Angeles because of its traffic and
smog, but is still less congested than Los Angeles. If you go
to Phoenix for a vacation, it would be wise to rent a car as there
are so many things to see that are far apart. Be sure to get a
good map and some suggestions of things to visit.
Stop in and find out what there is to do or write to the Phoenix
and Valley of The Sun Convention and Visitors Bureau, 400 E. Van
Buren Street, Suite 600, Phoenix AZ 85004-2290, or call (602)
254-6500.
