El Con Mall was Tucson's first shopping mall outside of the Downtown district when it opened in 1960 as an outdoor shopping center.
Located in the heart of Tucson at Broadway and Alvernon, El Con Mall has an evolving atmosphere of southwestern hospitality and charm.
El Con Mall property was originally the home of the El Conquistador Hotel.
The El Con Mall features major department stores, an unique variety of specialty shops, a 20-plex Century Theatres. There is plenty of easy parking and one level of access to all stores. Most businesses have Bilingual employees since El Con Mall is a popular hopping spot for Mexican visitors.
While the El Con Mall has wallowed over the past years, and many long time merchants have abandoned their pads, the mall is going through a perpetually evolving development.
New outside anchor stores like In and Out Burger, Rubio's, Office Depot, Home Depot and Target provide a moat-like anchor around the base of the mall.
