Iron Man vs Batman costumes to duke it out this 2009 season
Some of the season's top Halloween costumes are for pre-teens.
Halloween - the sixth-largest spending holiday. After candy, much of the money is spent on costumes for adults, teens and children.
Total Halloween consumers spending reached $3.29 billion in 2006, according to the National Retail Federation with candy being the number one spending item, followed by costumes, $1.15 billion, and decorations, $840 million.
Hot items for this month are candy, costumes, make-up, accessories, decorations and novelty products.
Iron Man may beat out Batman costumes
Iron Man is predicted to be one of this holiday season's top anticipated Halloween costume for teens. In the "Iron Man" movie, released in May 2008, Robert Downey, Jr. stars as billionaire industrialist Tony Stark.

New Batman movie has a strong following
"Batman, The Dark Knight," released July 2008, is follow-up to the action hit "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime.
Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger ("Brokeback Mountain") stars as arch-villain The Joker, and Aaron Eckhart plays District Attorney Harvey Dent.
