Pavarotti Farewell Tour From Canada to U.S.
This October 2006, Luciano Pavarotti will take his final bows as an operatic performer, paying tribute to the legions of fans who have shared his passion for music for the last four decades.
An exclusive Decca artist for a record-breaking 40 years, Luciano Pavarotti is the most popular classical artist in the history of the recording industry.
"A Night to Remember- The Farewell Tour" will be the last opportunity to see the great tenor perform live in Washington, DC.

Now at age 70, and truly a citizen of the world, Pavarotti recently brought the house down at the 2006 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony with his most recognized performance piece -- "Nessun Dorma" -- seen by over 2.5 billion people on the worldwide TV broadcast.
"I am more than delighted to come back to Washington, DC. I just have the best memories for this great city and I very much hope that the audience will enjoy this special evening as much as we enjoy being there the last time performing for you," Pavarotti said of the tour that will allow him to share his passion for great music as a performer one last time.
At the conclusion of this farewell tour, the legendary tenor is looking forward to spending as much time as possible with his wife Nicoletta and three-year-old daughter Alice and helping young performers develop their talent.
Pavarotti will perform highlights from his 40-year performing career including pieces from Tosti, Bellini, Puccini, Mascagni and Verdi. Pavarotti last performed in Washington, DC in 2000 to a sell-out crowd.
Luciano Pavarotti recently celebrated his fortieth anniversary as an opera singer. A household name for most of his extraordinary career, the great tenor's impact on the world of music has been enormous. Broadening the horizons of classical music and bringing untold numbers of new fans to his art, his thrilling voice and unique personality have touched countless people throughout the world.
His "Pavarotti & Friends" concert, staged annually for the past 10 years in Modena, Italy, has brought together the worlds of classical and pop music. During the past decade, Pavarotti has been joined onstage by a host of international popular music stars, including Celine Dion, Bryan Adams and Bono.

Revised Concert Schedule
The Luciano Pavarotti Canadian and Washington, D.C. Farewell Concerts were due to begin in Montreal on June 3, 2006.
This and the other June concert dates (Toronto - June 6; Calgary - June 11; Vancouver - June 16 and Washington, D.C. - June 21) have been rescheduled to October 2006.
