- October 2, 1996 marked the 30th annual Country Music Association
(CMA) awards broadcast live from Nashville, Tennessee's Grand
Ole Opry House. Hosted once again by fan favorite, Vince Gill,
the three hour award show boasted performances by many of today's
top country music stars. The following awards were presented
