Fountain Hills/Fort McDowell begins its busy fall season, full of annual celebrations, performing arts programs and new events. Visitors can enjoy events in downtown Fountain Hills in the shadow of one of the world’s tallest fountains, or learn more about Yavapai culture at Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. Fountain Festival of Arts & Crafts, November 12-14, Downtown Fountain Hills, 10am-5pm. The Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce is proud to present its 36th Annual Fountain Festival of Arts & Crafts. Over 200,000 visitors come to see and buy the work of 500 national artisans. This three-day juried show extends the length of Avenue of the Fountains and along Saguaro Blvd. with food booths, live music and entertainment. Orme Dam Victory Days, November 19-21 - 9am-10pm, Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation celebrates resisting the U.S. Government’s proposition to build a dam on the Verde and Salt Rivers, thereby creating a lake on their land. The three-day celebration showcases Pow Wow, rodeo, BMX, golf tournament and other outdoor activities. Yavapai song and dance, sporting events, concerts and a fine arts show. Admission $10 per car. Thanksgiving Day Parade, Thursday, November 25, 9am, Downtown Fountain Hills. The only Thanksgiving Day Parade in Arizona, featuring floats, horses, marching bands and a Grand Marshall. Parade starts at 9 a.m. at the corners of Saguaro and El Lago Boulevards.
 
First Saturday Fountain Hills Art Walk, Saturday December 4- 10am -4pm, Fountainside Plaza. Fountainside Plaza in the shadow of the world's tallest fountain comes to live with the work of artists on the first Saturday of each month (weather permitting). Enjoy live music at from 12:30 - 4pm. Stroll in the Glow, Saturday December 4, 5pm, Avenue of the Fountains. Over 60,000 twinkling lights and ornaments adorn the trees and median of Avenue of the Fountains in downtown Fountain Hills. Santa and his elves arrive while carolers sing. Shops and boutiques along the Avenue are open late to greet visitors. The Stroll takes place along the entire Avenue of the Fountains leading up to Fountain Park, home of the one of the world’s tallest fountain.

For the three nights preceding Christmas, thousands of luminaries are lit shortly before sunset. The luminarias line the downtown streets and the shores of Fountain Lake; turning the area into a softly lit fantasy land.
