August 2010 upcoming summer movies
Upcoming new 3D films in 2010 are being released at a record pace. Within weeks, many of the theatrical 3D releases will also be available on 3D Blu-ray for 3D home entertainment.
Romance and comedies, and romantic comedies, headline the theme for August with Warner Bros. release of Flipped, Step Up 3D and Going the Distance. In Step Up 3D, Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum) plays a rebel from the wrong side of Baltimore's tracks who want to break away aqs a street dancer. But, Tyler realizes he had one performance to prove that he can step up to a life far larger than he ever imagined.
Flipped (limited release. Nationwide release on August 27) A coming of age romantic comedy starring Madeline Carroll and Callan McAuliffe. Theree's triumph and disaster, family drama and first love. This film is rated PG for language and some thematic material. Warner Bros. Pictures and Castle Rock Entertainment.The return of Nanny McPhee Returns helps a family to keep their farm as she casts her magic to keep the children in line. In Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, the Oscar®-winning actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson returns to the role of the magical nanny who appears when she’s needed the most, and wanted the least, in the next sequel of the hilarious and heartwarming fable that has enchanted children around the world.
On Friday the 13th, a href="http://emol.org/film/archives/animalkingdom/index.html">Animal Kingdom is the Melbourne underworld and the Animals are the armed robbers who inhabit the terrain.
Also opening in theaters on August 13, is the romantic Eat, Pray, Love from Sony Pictures, Scott Pilgram vs. the World and The Expendables.
