Movie Tie-In Book to the Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures Film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children's Books, is pleased to announce the publication of a hardcover movie tie-in edition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The classic novel by Roald Dahl heads to the big screen on July 15, 2005 nationwide as a Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures major motion picture starring Academy Award(R) nominee Johnny Depp as eccentric candy-maker Willy Wonka.

Tim Burton, of Big Fish and Edward Scissorhands fame, directs the film. With a first printing of 45,000 copies, the movie tie-in version will carry a suggested retail price of $14.95 and is now available wherever books are sold.
