Living in the Eye of the Storm

The Whisper in Your Heart, by Stephen G. Scalese, is a self-help book that was written by a man who does not consider himself a writer. It took him fifteen years to write it, the book has been through almost a dozen rewrites and he even tried to give it away to spiritual guru Deepak Chopra because he didn't want the responsibility of bringing the message of the book to the world. Mr. Chopra didn’t have time to take on the project that Mr. Scalese would have gladly dropped into his lap so Stephen was stuck with it.

Stephen knew that he had a book as far back as 1981. The journey from that point to our chat was impossible for me to grasp in the scant ninety minutes we spent talking. He was very open with me and I hung on every word he shared with me. Of all of the things I want to share now, this is the most important: Stephen is a man with a message so he wrote a book to share that message with the world.

He is a great man who is still learning to better himself. By listening to the whisper in his heart he has helped the world become a better place. Along the path of his journey, he has met real writers who have given their endorsement for The Whisper in Your Heart. They are of the self-help writing fraternity and their words grace both covers of Stephen’s book.

I asked if meeting those authors was an accident or fate. Stephen does not believe in such happenstance. He believes in the inner wisdom produced by our always-intuitive second side. He believes that if a person listens to that inner wisdom, that whisper of the heart, that second side then they will always be where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be there. I am new to that way of thinking and there is a simplicity to it that seems to be primed for failure in this analytical world. Then a quote he told me lessened the fear of potential failure…

“As soon as we find out that there is an easier way to learn, life can become easy.”

Has our way of thinking become so complex that such a simple message is viewed with a doubting eye? If that is true then what is the point? If everything we do is the culmination of hard work and taking the long way only to be unhappy with the result then it is time for a new way of thinking.

       Don’t you think?

We have so many toys today and those things make us feel advanced as a society but the whole time we are merely living in the eye of a storm that we cannot see. The toys we have are always on our minds and we become addicted to our thoughts. We become addicted to getting more toys. We become addicted to the storm and don’t feel comfortable unless it is constantly bombarding us. The storm leads to more thoughts, more static, more, more, more...

With all of that noise in our minds, a small whisper from our heart can so easily be lost.

This new view of our minds whispers about a reconnection with our own, authentic self. Trust in the inner wisdom of your second side. The second side is as old as humanity. The second side is guidance in a whisper and it is a leader. When one follows their own lead then any follower will become a leader of their own reality. It starts with a whisper then leads to a better connection and the hope is that the end is a better life. If the better life is easier then we will just have to learn to live outside of the storm. We will have to learn to live with peace instead of strife. The message is so simple that it will be easily discounted.

When did all of this happen?

When did the drive for further evolving stop being a priority? Our toys keep getting better and better so isn't it time for us to do the same?

Living in the eye of the storm means coming to grips with the fact that we have become addicted to the storm in our lives. What Stephen Scalese wants us to know is that we only need to discover our real selves. The human infant is so weak and yet there are six billion humans in this world. Our second sides have found ways for us to survive and flourish for all of our history, yet our growth as a species has seen us slowly lose touch with our second sides.

The Whisper in Your Heart is a book that will change your life. It will talk to you about how important you are to that change. It whispers its message. It is a book of hope because it simply hopes that when you read it, you will begin to listen to your own heart. More about The Whisper In Your Heart can be found on Amazon.com.
