The Restless Heart concert is part of the ongoing “Charity Concert Series”  at the Maverick, Jay and Melinda Zucker, Managing Partners of Western Showcase, LLC and owners of the Maverick personally pay the cost of the artist, donate the use of the club, and donate all the tickets to a selected Tucson non-profit.  Non-profits not only benefit from the proceeds, but all the ticket revenue as well.

“We plan to host these charity events monthly in a special Sunday Showcase”, says Zucker.  “This provides donations from those who may not necessarily contribute to that specific organization, while rewarding them with a free concert for their generosity”.

Last month, the Maverick hosted Actor and Artist John Corbett as a benefit for Junior Achievement and the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona.  Future charity converts include the Bellamy Brothers and Asleep at the Wheel. For more information, please contact James Driscoll 520-349-0490.

The Maverick Nightclub Reopens- Maverick Day

The newly remodeled Maverick Country Night Club reopened its doors with the same Country theme that Tucson grew up with and a few changes on September 8, 2005.

The Maverick Day was presented as a proclamation from the City of Tucson Office of the Mayor at 5:30 p.m. during reopening ceremonies. We’ve stretched out the dance floor, created a whiskey bar and lounge area. A new sound and an extensive light system are tied into several flat screen TV’s around the club featuring music from a library of over 7,500 videos.  It’s a whole new experience with an old Tucson name. The Maverick has been part of Tucson’s nightlife for 42 years and has brought some of the County’s top musical talent through its doors. A large, new stage plays host to live country music.

The Maverick originally opened in 1962 at the southeast corner of 22nd Street and Columbus. It closed down after a fire.

King of Clubs has been Tucson's premiere country nightclub for more than 40 years. Live country music, dancing, and Tucson's friendliest staff make for an awesome atmosphere. In addition to great drinks, The Maverick also boasts a fantastic food menu. Thursday nights are Steak Night! Get a 12 oz. T-Bone and fixins for just $9.95! Concerts...Recent acts include Darryl Worley, Tracy Byrd, Blake Shelton, and Andy Griggs. These great artists are now part of a long line of great country music stars that have appeared at The Maverick over the years including Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Pride, and Tanya Tucker, just to name a few!
