The Yuma Crossing Heritage Area brings projects and programs to life for the Yuma community
by conserving, enhancing and interpreting the natural and cultural
resources of the community through collaboration and partnerships.
The Heritage Festivals are formerly part
of Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area and is now part of the Yuma
Visitors Bureau. The YVB has absorbed the
operation and management of Heritage Festivals, which had previously
been part of Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area (YCNHA). Both YVB
and Heritage Festivals are funded in part by a two percent hospitality
tax collected by the city of Yuma.

county’s largest civilian employer and one of the world's largest
military installations, hosting up to 100 tests simultaneously. Every
year, tens of thousands of artillery, mortar and missile rounds are
fired, 36,000 parachute drops take place, over 130,000 test miles are
driven, and nearly 4000 air sorties are flown.
YPG is also home to the Military Freefall School, a joint
forces training school covering all aspects of military
parachuting. Through a joint-use agreement with General Motors, a
new hot-weather test track complex opened at YPG in 2009.
