To keep the rally intact, several of the hotels stepped in to host and sponsor the events. The turn out, though, was reportedly less than last year's attendance for the main events on Saturday's Party On The Point. There was also a cover charge for both nights of entertainment and concert by Rare Earth. Only a few hundred people attended instead of the thousands expected to this event. Playa Bonita Resort's Puesta del Sol Restaurant Bar hosted live music and entertainment, without cover, all three nights. Music was provided by Punto Y Coma Rock Music Group which played retro-sounds of the 70s to 90s on Thursday through Saturday. The Banned all performed on Friday night. The Saturday afternoon ad hoc street parade of bikes along downtown's Av Ferrocarril became the weekend's highlight- and amusement to the unsuspecting tourists who didn't expect the weekend rally. Watch videos of the street parade. Rocky Point 2007 Bike Rally Schedule of Events Thursday, November 8 Rally registration began at 3:00pm to close. The registration was held at The Desert Oasis Resort. The Welcome Party, held at Hacienda las Puentes, began at 3:00pm also. The Poker Run to RP started at Flores Chevon in Why, Arizona. Friday, November 9 Rally registration held all day at The Desert Oasis Resort. The Poker Run to RP continued. RideNow Invitations Golf Tournament at Las Palomas Resort. Party at the Playa, held at The Playa Bonita Hotel. The Banned and Punto Coma performed. Party On the Point, held adjacent to the Penasco Del Sol Hotel from 4:00pm until 1:30am. Admission was $10 for one night or $15 for both nights. Saturday, November 10 The Rocky Point Rally RideNow Powersports Bike Show was held on Saturday. There were 20 classes, 20 tropies and Best of Show winner. Sign up was $20 per bike. Judging was from 1-2pm and awards were presented at 3pm. Party On the Point contined from 10:00am to midnight. This year's feature concert was Rare Earth, hosted by Penasco Del Sol Hotel & Tecate Beer. The performance began at 8:30pm. At 8pm, Carvin Jones Band took the main stage. from 9pm through midnight was the Go-Go Cage Dancing Contest. The qualifying round winner got $100. Crowds gather along rooftops and second story bar patios to get a better look at the chaos below during a stream of bikes, trikes and quads parading down on Puerto Peñasco's main downtown street. What probably started out as attempts to just find parking spots along the main drag on Saturday, turned into an impromptu street parade and breakout demonstrations. Watch a video from the balcony of Rene's Bar. Harley-Davidsons, lined along the street like dominos. were the predominate brand at the rally.
