LOS ANGELES, Dec. 10, 2004 /PRNewswire/ -- December 6th proved that you can't keep "The Crue" down. Despite the fact that The City of West Hollywood would not allow Motley Crue to hold their press conference to announce their reunion tour at the Whisky A Go-Go (the event was moved to the legendary Hollywood Palladium) and the Los Angeles Fire Marshall prohibited the band from landing their "Red, White & Crue" helicopter (which was already approved by the FAA) at the Palladium (and again for the band's appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live") ... the bad boys of rock are still coming to pollute a city near you.
Motley Crue's new single, "If I Die Tomorrow," is already a success. It is the #1 most added song on both Mainstream and Active Rock radio formats in its first week. Jim Richards, Regional Vice President of Programming (Rock) for Clear Channel stated, "'If I Die Tomorrow' is a contemporary song, it's cutting edge and relevant. The radio stations are getting a big response from fans because they know they are part of something special."
"Red, White & Crue Tour 2005 ... Better Live Than Dead," the world tour, begins February 17th and is turning out to be one of the hottest tickets around. The first date to go onsale was Toronto (onsale 12/10) sold out within hours. The tour's promoter Riley O'Connor indicated that because it sold out of its original configuration so quickly, he has since added additional seats.
The desire of the fans to see the original Crue back together was the reason the band reunited. Now that it's happened, they are continuing to show their support. Canadian radio stations in Winnipeg and Calgary as well as stations in the US and around the world have started their own "Bring the Crue" campaigns emulating what the UK promoter, Mags Ravell, did to bring the Crue back together (www.petitiononline.com/Crüepeg/petition.html).
Motley Crue's first television performance in six years was simulcast live in Times Square during their performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (ABC). Motley Crue will also be performing live on the Spike TV Video Game Awards Tuesday, December 14th.
