Gerry Glombecki dies

Longtime Tucson musician and songqriter Gerry Glombecki has been a professional musician, singer, songwriter, poet and actor for more than 30 years.

Gerry Glombecki born December 7, 1946, Chicago IL, passed away May 25, 2010. He was an engaging performer, singer, songwriter and poet. His passion for music was felt by all who had the priveledge of hearing him play.

He toured all over the country, but his home was Tucson. Gerry brought to life the old style of frontier music.

One of his most memorable songs was "The Ballad of George Hayduke," for which he was honored with placing first in the Arizona Anthem Poetry Contest.

Another personal highlight was being inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame. He is survived by brothers, Mark (Erin), Tom (Terry) and nephews, Eric, Ryan and Bret. He will be remembered as a close friend to many. Memorial Service Sunday, May 30, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at McCormick Park, 2950 N. Columbus Blvd. Arrangements made by Heather Mortuary, Tucson, Arizona.
