Dizzy'sBy Christopher C. Happ Those of us who have been in the valley for a number of years probably remember Dizzy’s on 7th St., just north of Glendale. The Dizzy’s that I remember was a run-down gin-mill, catering to a run-down crowd not unlike the now defunct Copper Queen. The club has been at its current location for over thirty years. It has had its share of ownership changes in that time. I had not visited the bar in probably fifteen years and was surprised to find it, cleaner, brighter and possessing a much wider variety of libations, since my last visit. The bar offers pool, darts, a good juke box and a plethora of lovely bartenders. Kathy, and Donna are cordial and friendly. Super-Johnny is well known for his quick wit and great service. Laurie and Misty are always a pleasure. At Dizzy’s you are a stranger only once. A few weeks back, the club staged a pajama party. Great service, great drinks, pool, darts and women in lingerie! It just doesn’t get any better than that! They offer a beer of the month and a nice selection of tequilas from Patron to Don Julio. Prices are reasonable and service is always prompt and friendly. The only challenge here is parking, so get there early. The club caters to a local crowd and those commuting the Seventh Street corridor. Patrons can sign up for dart or pool tournaments. Dizzy’s is staging a Halloween party, Saturday, October 30th; that should be every bit as good as the Pajama party. Dizzy’s offers fourteen or so, import beers and all of the domestics. The bar has Amber Bock, Foster’s and Hefeweizen on tap. The current owner is celebrating two years at the location. Saturday, October 9th. Happy hour is 3.p.m. -7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Donna doubles as Event Coordinator. Call to sign up for pool and dart tournaments. Dizzy’s Phoenix Restaurant IndexPhoenix Entertainment Magazinec. 2004-07 Phoenix Entertainment Magazine.
