Dave Scharlau and Karlynn Baker-Scharlau
David Charles
Scharlau, Sr., passed away on February 25, 2010 in
Tucson, AZ. He was born in Batavia, New York to
Louis and Josephine (Boyd) Scharlau. He is survived
by David, Jr., Scott (Barbara), Melinda (Roy),
Michelle, Melissa (Pierce); 11 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents,
siblings, George, Marguerite, Lucille, Earl and
grandson, Devin. David moved to Tucson, AZ in 1987.
As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he co-founded a
ministry for volunteering and serving his fellow
veterans who knew him as Rev. Dave. In spite of his
many ailments, he was able to remain optimistic and
uplifting to those he came in contact with. Special
thanks to all the staff at the VA Hospital, staff
and residents of B-Nai B'rith Covenant House.
Donations in his memory can be made to the VA
Hospital. Arrangements in care of ADAIR FUNERAL
HOMES, Dodge Chapel. Dave was a good friend.
