Wifi access now available

TIA also added Wi-Fi stations throughout the airport terminal to provide free wireless Internet access. The service may not be available in all areas during some construction periods.

Airport Security Enhanced

The greet area to meet arrive passengers has been moved to the baggae claim area. To meet passengers, wait in the small lounge area just past the baggage claim. Closed circuit video monitors show arriving passangers as they get off the planes and come down the depaning ramp into the main terminal where the baggage claim is located. More information from the Transportation Security Adminstrations' website.

Tucson International Airport recommends that travelers follow the guidelines issued by the airlines with regard to advance check-in. Most airlines recommend that passengers arrive at the airport 90 minutes prior to departure. Some airlines may stop checking bags up to 30 minutes prior to departure and begin the boarding process earlier in order to comply with these new federal regulations. More from TIA security guidelines.

Some guidelines to keep in mind:

  • The Transportation Security Administration has a ban on liquids, aerosols and gels. Customers may carry through security checkpoints travel-size toiletries (3 ounces or less) that fit comfortably in ONE, QUART-SIZE, clear plastic, zip-top bag.
  • After clearing security, customers may now bring beverages and other items purchased in the secure boarding area on-board aircraft.
  • Most airlines limit carry-on pieces to two, including purses and briefcases. During peak travel times, this limit may be reduced to one.
