Yvette Fielding, Host/Lead Investigator
Yvette Fielding made first appearance on British television screens at 13 years old, in the acclaimed BBC children's sit-com Seaview.
She was soon snapped up by another flagship BBC show, the long running Blue Peter, becoming the program's youngest presenter at 18. Her efforts were rewarded when she received a SOS award for the Most Popular Woman on Television.
She left Blue Peter in 1992, and went on to present or appear in an amazing range of shows, including What's Up Doc?, Practical Parenting, Looking Good, Heaven and Earth, City Hospital, Baby Baby, Girl's Talk, Karaoke Challenge and Well Being.
She also tried her hand at home improvement in Simply DIY and A Weekend's Work. She was a host for the game show Under Offer and Dear Denise. Yvette also made appearances on Stars in their Eye, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Richard and Judy and The Paul O'Grady Show.
Yvette is best know as the face, heart, soul and scream of the world's leading television ghost hunt. Along with her husband Karl, she started Antix Productions, the company behind the global success that is Most Haunted. They have two children, William and Mary.
Ciarán O'Keefe, Parapsychologist/Investigator
Ciarán O'Keeffe joined Most Haunted during Series 3 in 2003.
Among the crew, he is known as the soft-spoken voice of reason. As a parapsychologist, it's Ciarán's role to evaluate all aspects of an investigation.
Using a wide range of paranormal equipment and experiments, Ciarán has to determine whether the team's experiences could have been paranormal or attributable to other factors. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it!
A lecturer and researcher at Liverpool Hope University, Ciarán specializes in parapsychology, investigative psychology and music psychology. He earned his doctorate at the University of Hertfordshire with a thesis entitled, "Assessing the content of advice from practitioners claiming paranormal ability."
Off camera, he's friendly and down-to-earth, with a knack for animal impressions and a fondness for wearing a Ghostbusters t-shirt.
David Wells, Psychic
David Wells joined the team as a psychic medium during 2004. His first investigation was at the Greengate Brewery. It was considered one of the most exciting investigations in Most Haunted history when Stuart witnessed a beer barrel rolling towards him of its own!
A catering manager and former member of the Royal Navy, David developed his psychic abilities when he was ill with severe pneumonia. "I found myself being approached by an old lady who told me to go back to bed; that this is not my time and I have work to do," David says. He was suffering from sleepless nights because he was awakened by what he calls "things that go bump in the night." A friend introduced him to a lady who "dealt with these sorts of things."
David then learned about astrology to ground his abilities. His memory of talking to his relatives, who had passed away when he was a child, came back and he realized that this was his true vocation. David's presence has become invaluable. During the investigation at Pendle Hill, the Most Haunted team was surprised when a spirit possessed David causing him to lash out and smash a mirror he was using!
Karl Beattie, Director of Investigation
Karl Beattie started his television career as a camera assistant on the frantic live children's show on the BBC called Parallel 9. He trained as a cameraman at Visions, where he worked on such successful shows as Blind Date, Gladiators, TFI Friday, Robot Wars and the World Music Awards.
He was also involved in the production of a number of chart-topping music videos, including Frozen by Madonna, Motown Mania, and tracks by Michael Jackson, Oasis, Paul McCartney, Sting, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Blur and Pulp.
He has worked on outside broadcasts at festivals such as Glastonbury and traveled worldwide as an intrepid cameraman across all genres: sports, music, current affairs, and light entertainment. Karl met Yvette on the BBC's City Hospital. It was a whirlwind romance. Karl and Yvette were engaged within six weeks and they married six months later. They now have two children, William and Mary.
Outside of television, Karl's great passion is martial arts. He started training at the age of 7 with the legendary Otsu Maeda Sensei. In 1994, he won the title of World Full Contact Champion and holds an impressive record of 85 fights, with no defeats and 75 KO's. Alongside Yvette, he runs Antix Productions, the company behind Most Haunted. As well as producing, he cannot resist picking up a camera during the show, returning to his cameraman roots.
