What is Vacation Ownership?

Also referred to as timeshare, fractional ownership, private residence clubs, points clubs or interval ownership, vacation ownership enables you to buy into a luxury vacation property that you may not be able to afford to buy outright. Ownership is shared by several people, and use of the property is controlled by a variety of potential factors.

Some vacation ownerships are built on a points system, so each owner owns a certain number of points that entitles them to a certain amount of time at any resort within the company's network.

Other vacation ownership companies require you to buy into a specific property, and the amount of time you get to stay at that property is related to your percentage of ownership.
