United Airlines Revises Ticket Policies for Customers Affected by U.K. Security Changes
CHICAGO, Aug. 10, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
United Airlines has revised its
ticketing policies for its customers with travel plans to and from
London affected by today's security issues in the United Kingdom. These
revised policies apply to all customers flying Aug. 10 - Sept. 1, with
tickets purchased on or before Aug. 10 for travel to/from the United
Kingdom and U.S. airports on any United (R) or United code-share flight.
For customers currently en route who would like to make
one change to their return trip, rules and restrictions regarding
standard change fees, advance purchases, day or time applications,
blackouts and minimum or maximum stay requirements have been waived.
Origin and destination cities must remain the same.
For customers who have not begun travel, one change to
their travel plans may be made without change fees or advance purchase
requirements for the same itinerary.
For a new itinerary, one change may be made without change
fees. Rescheduled travel may be subject to higher fares if it does not
meet original rule and booking code restrictions or is a new itinerary.
All changes must be made by midnight of the customer's
original travel date. Customers may make these changes by calling United
reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1 or their travel agency.
Customers are advised to visit united.com or to call
1-800-UNITED-1 for flight status information. Customers may also take
advantage of United's Easy Update service, which automatically provides
flight status notifications via e-mail, mobile phone or pager. If a
flight has been canceled, customers should call United at 1-800-UNITED-1
(1-800-864-8331), their travel agency, or use an EasyCheck-in kiosk to
rebook their flight.
You can also take advantage of our free customer-paging
service, which will automatically notify you of your flights' status via
email or your text-enabled cellular phone or pager.
United will continue to monitor the situation and adjust ticketing policies as necessary.
