A Las Vegas hotel discount is often better through the Internet than booking a hotel room by phone.
Why? Hotels have discovered that the cost
to process an Internet hotel reservation is a fraction of the cost for a
human to process the same sale.
Over the phone, an operator spends
several minutes to take the call, type in data, process the credit card
and book the room. A whole layer of supervisors and administrators
overlook the customer service representative. While some those
activities are handled by computers, the human element is the most
