Entertainment Magazine: Staff: Publisher Robert Zucker Publisher Robert ZuckerRobert Zucker is the founder and publisher of several web sites and former publisher of several newspapers. Before starting a newspaper in 1977, Robert Zucker joined the staff of the Mountain Newsreal, one of the first alternative newspapers in the state. When Jonathan L decided to close the publication in 1985, he allowed the use content from Newsreal featured in Newsreal Classics. After graduation from the University of Arizona, Robert Zucker started the first youth newspaper in Tucson, Arizona called Youth Awareness Press. TheYouth Awarensss Press created a media voice for young people in the community. The publication was supported with public grants in the early years. More than 1,000 youth gained practical journalism skills while learning how to publish newspapers. Fundraising events like concerts, carnivals, movie screenings and advertising covered publishing costs when the grants ended in the 1980s. The YAP evolved into the Tucson Teen in the early 1980s and then into the Entertainment Magazine in the mid-1980s when Zucker started accepting advertiing support from the community. Robert Zucker also spent nearly 15 years teaching journalism and newspaper publishing courses at the University of Arizona and five years at Pima Community College as the advisor of Pima College's student newspaper, The Aztec Press. Being on the Internet-cusp when I started teaching in the early 1990s, Zucker developed and managed both journalism departments web sites. In 1995 In the past few years after teaching, Robert Zucker continued with EMOL.org and kept busy as an occassional freelance reporter for the Tucson Citizen's Tucson Business Edge and consultant for other publishers and companies in Tucson and Phoenix.
