Higher Ground is a desperately tame, slow-paced story, cram-packed with religious fanatics who are so brain-washed they all sound the same. Bad Teacher is Cameron Diaz who dazzles as the Bad Teacher in this otherwise barely entertaining piece that tries so hard to shock it suffers from exhaustion long before the final curtain falls. None of the characters fully engage the audience and, with hardly a LOL moment, this film is destined for an early appearance on the DVD 'Coming Soon' list. Cars 2 is a children's film with a plot too complicated for many adults to understand and with so much explanatory dialogue it sometimes feels like a lecture. ANOTHER EARTH - En Route in a Tardis This film has an intriguing sci-fi premise about a duplicate earth but, unfortunately, it gets relegated to the realm of sub-plot and the focus is placed on a tedious romance that is a poor substitute for the extra-terrestrial adventure we could have enjoyed.
