Other than that, the wait for new 3D movies to play at home will be a trickle through the holidays.
Expectation of "Avatar 3D" before the
end of the year have not been confirmed. Last word is that it may not be
until 2011 until the 3D version will be available.
The 3D-enabled Blu-ray release of "Disney's A Christmas Carol"
will be available in late 2010. This 3-D DVD will begin the launch of a
new premium line-up of Disney Digital 3D movies for the home. Read more

 In
addition to the anticipated release of "Disney's A Christmas Carol,"
and in an effort to provide early adopters with premium content that
optimally showcases their new 3D home theater systems with Disney 3D
content, Disney has also created an exclusive 3D Showcase Disc available
for mass distribution.
This new 3D Showcase Disc is a
compilation of upcoming 3D product, footage and promotional trailers
that contains a variety of vividly mesmerizing clips from Disney's 3D
content library.
Some tiltes also include Walt Disney's
1953 animated short "Working for Peanuts," promotional trailers of
upcoming 3D-enabled Blu-ray releases like Disney's A Christmas Carol, Alice in Wonderland and Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 3
plus original content created exclusively for this disc. The new 3D
Showcase Disc is now available for manufacturers to start placing orders

Watching 3D at Home
To watch 3D effects, either the television set or the player must have the new 3-D technology installed.
It may eventually be possible to
"up-convert" regular DVD and HD signals to 3D, just as some Blu-ray
players will upconvert regular DVD to 1080p quality.
At this time, however, a new 3D TV set and 3D Blu-ray player is required to watch full 3D at home.

3D glasses for home movies
To watch 3D at home, 3D glasses are still needed. The new generation of 3D glasses are lighter weight, battery operated and are comfortable even for those who wear glasses.

on Friday, April 30th. The fully immersive music and visual
experience, featuring state-of-the-art 3D technology, will screen for
one week only in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York,
Phoenix, Philadelphia and dozens more cities nationwide.
Toy Story 3 is the 3rd sequel in 3D.
